Nichole Ochoa is the Founder of Patent Pending Productions LLC and the Artistic Director of Patent Pending Sketch Comedy. She started in the performing arts at 3 years old as a classical ballet dancer. When High School came around she started learning the technical world for stage performances. Continuing her love of the creative arts she moved to New York at 18 and studied Meisner Technique at The School for Film and Television. She left the theater for other adventures and then made her return in 2016 with a local sketch comedy troupe. In 2022, she took the idea of Patent Pending Comedy and ran with it pulling together the talent you see on the stage here today.
C Austin Farris is grateful to see another season of Patent Pending come to fruition. Farris has been practicing comedy and artistic entrepreneurship in the valley for twenty years as a founding member of Friday Night Live Sketch Comedy, NFAH Improv, and Patent Pending Productions, with additional experience as a contributing writer/performer/director to The Cosmonauts. Farris believes strongly that Phoenix cradles a verdant artistic potential to be cultivated. To this end, you can find him hosting weekly virtual writers’ rooms open to the public on the Patent Pending server. Farris would like to thank the cast, crew, and of course… you! He sincerely hopes you find all of this silliness as delightful to watch as it was to create.
Mike Potts is a cat dad and photographer who has been doing sketch comedy for 12 years. To date his greatest triumph is taking a tuxedo selfie with penguins in Antarctica.
Jen Gantwerker is a theatre artist, educator, yoga teacher, and burrito enthusiast. By day, she is the Education Program Manager at Childsplay Theatre. The rest of the time, she writes, directs, and performs in as many interesting projects as she can. This is one of those projects! Thanks for coming out to see it.
Amanda Byars is a Sirian Starseed and Meisner method actor. She is ecstatic to make her Phoenix stage debut! Last P3 performance, Amanda managed the back of the house keeping cast fed and costumes labeled. She is grateful to hold the role of Stage Manager as well as Cast for the spring show. Amanda trained at The School for Film & Television in NYC and performed with Pinch-n-Ouch theater in Atlanta. Her work in holistic health, young son and grandma hobbies keep Amanda growing and learning. She would like to thank Wedding Cake and ice cold Coke-a-Cola in a can, for always hitting just right.
Angelica Saario is back and ready for season 2 with P3! Angelica is a full time college student at ASU getting her BA in theatre acting. When she’s not at the gym weight training or enjoying a yoga class; she’s performing in as many shows as she can around the valley. She also loves acting in short films, directing and writing.
Cindy Covington is so excited to be a part of Patent Pending Sketch Comedy. She’s been performing in theater all over the valley for many years and just recently starred in her first feature film. P3 is a dream come true, “what a joy it is to perform with this creative, hilarious , brilliant troupe of actors, writers and now (with a full heart) she has the privilege to call them friends”. She would like to thank Anthony for being the best human she’s ever known.
Doug Waldo started acting professionally in 1976. His resume includes film, theatre, voice work on radio commercials and corporate videos. He has been doing sketch comedy for 5 years. He and his wife and daughter live in Fountain Hills.
Sam Morton is an Arizona native armed with years of experience in sketch, improv and some stage combat. With the unwavering support of his lovely wife (who has a better sense of humor than he does), he's back for another season of sketches with Patent Pending. He enjoys long walks on the beach and a good sunset.
Tiffany Sanchez is a creative individual that loves to make people laugh and smile. She has done stand up comedy in the valley and now making her Comedy theater debut with P3.

Christine Rogers is a west coast native, yes that is code for she was born in California and grew up in Oregon. For the past few years she has lived in Scottsdale AZ performing with the sketch troupe the Cosmonauts and was a founding member of the sketch troupe Patent Pending. She is a graduate of Upright Citizens Brigade improv program. She is now back in Bend OR and flexing her chops at stand-up. Little known fact about Christine, her great grandfather was the king of Bulgaria.
Scott Gesser is either a musical comedian or a comedy musician, depending on who you ask. He can be seen on stages all over Arizona, occasionally on purpose. He has released over 600 songs, 3 of which are pretty good and all of which can be found at scottgesser.com
